Hercules Metals Unearths Deep Secrets: District-Scale Survey Reveals Promising Copper Potential in Idaho

Hercules Metals Corp. has successfully completed a large-scale magnetotelluric and natural-source induced polarization (MT-NSIP) geophysical survey on its Hercules Property in western Idaho. This advanced survey method, covering over 100 square kilometers, provides unprecedented depth penetration, offering crucial insights into potential copper mineralization and structural controls within the district.

Survey Breakthroughs and Expanded Reach

The MT-NSIP survey, conducted by Moombarriga USA (M-Geo), significantly expands upon previous geophysical efforts. The combined 120 km² dataset, which includes an additional 20 km² on the adjacent Cuddy Mountain property held by Scout Discoveries Corp., is being processed as a single contiguous block. This allows for reliable resistivity modeling to depths of up to six kilometers, a substantial improvement over the 800-meter penetration achieved by conventional DC-IP surveys.

Key Highlights of the Survey

  • Expanded Coverage: The 120 km² MT-NSIP survey vastly increases the surveyed area compared to previous 12 km² and 11 km² DC-IP grids.
  • Superior Depth Penetration: Utilizing natural currents, MT-NSIP images depths an order of magnitude greater than active-source DC-IP methods.
  • MT Resistivity Applications: This method aids in mapping regional fault structures, identifying structural intersections, and advanced interpretation of alteration zonation, with porphyry centers often appearing as a conductive phyllic halo around a resistive potassic core.
  • NSIP Innovation: A novel method for deriving deep chargeability data up to two kilometers, NSIP aims to identify extensions of the Leviathan porphyry and other disseminated sulfide mineralization.

Strategic Collaboration and Preliminary Insights

The collaboration with Scout Discoveries Corp. for a broader regional survey served two strategic purposes:

  • Regional Fault Targeting: The large-scale modeling enhances the ability to interpret major structural corridors, which are often conduits for porphyry emplacement.
  • Enhanced Depth Resolution: The expanded survey area increases the effective survey aperture, leading to significantly deeper geophysical imaging.

Preliminary resistivity data from M-Geo has already revealed several key insights:

  • Regional fault structures cutting northeast and northwest across the Property, indicating potential district-scale structural controls.
  • A conductivity anomaly associated with the Leviathan Porphyry, suggesting expansion potential along trend.
  • A prominent resistivity high beneath a multi-kilometer soil and rock chip anomaly in the Eastern Block Zone, consistent with a potential buried intrusive stock.

Next Steps and Future Outlook

With field acquisition complete, inversion modeling is now underway. The results will be integrated with Hercules Metals' existing geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets. This comprehensive integration is anticipated to yield new targets for additional porphyry centers on the expanded Hercules land package, further solidifying the company's position in developing Idaho's emerging porphyry copper district.
